I went to Perth for a week. Wow, really opened my eyes. I'm a frog in a well who ventured out a little and now back in.
I enjoyed the trip, and the details of it, well, don't let me bore you here, got pictures and stuff.
I appreciate some of the stuff at home more now, things I thought could be better, now seem reasonable. I think you can't help comparing and that's just a thing we were taught to do. It's certainly better to stay there, the lifestyle, the culture, the people.
But there's always pros and cons.
First few things I did when I came back to Singapore? Changed my door knob. That was the main reason for writing this. Not that I'm here to brag, but the wonders of what the mind can achieve.
I couldn't get the stripped screw out. Stripped screw meaning those with the + or - at the end but became a freaking O because of poor workmanship. I went youtube, bless the creator, and saw how people dealt with such situations. They used a drill and a screw extractor to cut the screw and created a new bite to remove it.
Hey man, I'm working with Ikea basic tool kit. I tried prying the screw. Doesn't work. And my mind told me, all you need is a "bite", so I took my screwdriver and hammered it into the screw. Woo. It works. Wonderful, powerful stuff we have in our head.
And all it took was an hour of manual labor and a touch of brain juice to remove your old knob and install a new one. I think we can do anything with that.
Cheers
